A Compelling Narrative and Strong Script Make ‘Inspector Nalinikanta 2’ a Must-Watch

Rajatava Dutta, Suprabhat Das, Amrita Chattopadhyay, Chandak Chowdhury and Raja Chatterjee stars in the new Klikk series Inspector Nalini Kanta 2. This is the second instalment in the NaliniKanta series. Directed by Soumik Chatterjee, this is a slow-burn thriller. It begins by establishing characters and situations and setting the stage before unfolding the story. The series maintains its suspenseful narrative with strong performances and well-crafted dialogues. This six-episode murder mystery is a gripping thriller that’s well worth watching. One needs to watch every moment carefully; otherwise, they might miss the subtle clues laid out by the director.

It has been a delight to watch Rajatava Dutta. His portrayal of inspector Nalini Kanta is outstanding. In this series, he departs from the stereotypical supercop role, offering a portrayal of a relatable human character. Rather than a heroic detective, he comes across as an ordinary man with a brilliant and subtle cleverness. Rajatava Dutta’s comic timing is sharp enough to make the audience laugh.

In their small roles, Chandak Choudhury and Suprabha Das deliver impressive performances. Amrita Chattopadhyay and Raja Chatterjee are good in their roles.

The screenplay and dialogue by Rudradeep Chanda are worth mentioning. The screenplay is tight and meaningful. While the dialogues are smart and intelligent. Apart from Rajatava Dutta’s acting, these two aspects are real assets of the series.

The story is set against the backdrop of north Bengal. The scenic beauty of the location could have been showcased more, but this isn’t the case. Somehow the grandeur of the nature of north Bengal is missing from the frame. The background score adds to the series’ moody and intense vibe, making it remarkable in the crime thriller genre.

In conclusion, Inspector Nalinikanta 2 offers a strong script and sharp dialogue that elevate the series, making it engaging and thought-provoking. However, while the narrative and performances are commendable, the execution falls short in effectively building tension and showcasing the scenic beauty of North Bengal. The series could have been more well-directed to enhance its overall impact. Despite these shortcomings, it remains binge-worthy due to its compelling script and strong acting.
